Scott R. Grossman
Scott R. Grossman is a hands-on investor, strategic advisor and operator with more than 25 years of experience identifying, navigating and monetizing transformative change. He has actively led over $4 billion in direct investments across public and private markets, spanning the capital structure and company lifecycle. His work covers virtually every facet of the consumer economy: staples, discretionary, media and entertainment, consumer technology, and regulated industries such as alcohol, tobacco and cannabis. His focus is deeply understanding what, how and why we buy—and the secular forces reshaping our businesses, careers and lives.
Scott began his investment career at Soros Private Equity after investment banking roles at Merrill Lynch. He spent over a decade at Magnetar Capital, joining near its inception to help build and lead several platforms, including Fundamental Credit, Special Situations and Event Driven. As a Senior Portfolio Manager, he incubated a strategy that was spun out as Vindico Capital, where he aligned with public management teams and Boards to catalyze change as an engaged owner.
Cannabis represents a unique intersection of Scott's professional experience and personal conviction. A cannabis activist for more than three decades, he joined the Executive Leadership Team of Turning Point Brands (NYSE: TPB), where he spent nearly five years leading its cannabis-first growth strategy through M&A, partnerships and new commercial operations.
Today, he continues to invest in and advise cannabis businesses, leveraging deep industry relationships and a differentiated perspective on a $350 billion emerging global market.
Whether as an engaged investor—or an aligned strategic advisor and operator from within—the common thread has been partnering with management teams to navigate and execute change, with the humility, grit, and expertise required to empower C-Suites and Boards to act.
